im thinking about get a sugar glider, most likely a 2 year old, thought maybe a young joey. im just wondering what to feed them, how much a day to feed them, and im curious as to how they act. do they act like hamsters where if you take them out, they will run away from you and hide and never find them? or are they more calm where if you put him on your shirt, he will stay there? if you got personal experince with them, please email me! drlkdel@aol.com thanks!!
I got a sugar glider 5 days ago, every day when I get home from work I take her out of her cage, but she just goes into my shirt pocket and falls asleep. I understand i’m supposed to spend 2 hours with her a day. I probably spend about 2 1/2 but 1 1/2 of them she is sleeping in my pocket, the other 1 is when she finally wakes up(around midnight) and starts bouncing off the walls. I usually fall asleep around 12:30-1.
Am I spending enough time with her?

I adopted a pair of male sugar gliders 3 days ago from a person who needed to get rid of them. I figured that I was an animal love and that I could give them a good stable home. Well, they hate me. They are NOT hand tamed. I put a shirt in their pouch to get used to the scent of me and when I tried to stick my gloved hand in there they bit me 3 times. I tried again and they growled at me. I don’t know if I should give them to someone who is a professional or keep trying. I just feel bad because I don’t get them out… Any suggestions? Thanks in advance…

i jmust recently rescued an adult sugar glider.. she is about 4 years old and has never been handled.. i have another little girl glider who was about 1 years old when i got her and have had no problems with her at all… but my new adu;t girl is very snotty and seems like she has had no human contact… never been bag trained or shirt trained… is there anything i can do… will she eventually calm down and bond with me… please someone help!
