What is the best small animal to keep in a dorm room?

My roomate and I have agreed that we want an animal – something smaller than a cat but something furry. What’s easy to keep hidden? Our dorm’s pretty strict and we’d rather not get kicked out.

We wanted a sugar glider but they’re expensive as hell. And they can’t be smelly or loud! Any suggestions? (Keep in mind, we’re working on a budget… no exotics, please, and we don’t like birds.)

Thanks!

We’re getting 2 mice named Mus (moose) and Tybalt (tybbie).

Also, we’re in high school. No keggers, kthnx.

And we won’t get caught ’cause we’re ninjas.

Thanks for your help.

Condition of Sugar glider at a pet store in Texas?

I recently visited a pet store in Stephenville Texas to purchase mealworms for my sugar gliders. I noticed they had an adult glider for sale. She is being very poorly cared for, in a tiny cage, housed in the same room with birds. She was being fed peanuts and trailmix for a bag.

My first question is if it is even legal to sell sugar gliders in pet store in Texas. I know that some state ban the sale of these animals in stores, but I’m not sure about Texas. If it’s not legal, to whom do I report this.

If it is legal, is there a way to report the mistreatment of this animal?

If I where to get a dorm room pet what animal should I get?

Maybe like a chinchilla, or a sugar glider…

is it ok for those animals 2 live in a dorm

maybe a fish
I don’t want anything that smells or takes to much matiance

I would give it loads of love though

What kind of pet should I get?

I would like a pet to help out with my depression. No cats.No reptiles or arachnids. No hamsters either. I would like a pet that could mainly stay in my room. I would like a pet I can play with. I would preffer the smallest kind of dog possible, but, don’t know the different kinds. Not too fond of chihuahuas. I wouldn’t mind an animal like a ferret, but, that is too mischievous. Or a sugar glider, however, that takes too much of my time, since I hear they need your constant company. The pet would have to be able to take living alone for long hours every day.
Ok! My fault, I didn’t mention no FISH. But, I did mention a pet I can play with. Let me add to that a pet I can pet. He’d be alone only while I was at work.
Hey! I do have to work people! No matter what I get, it will be alone 9hrs a day. As for stayin in my room, that’s where I lock myself up every day.

would this be o.k or would it kill it?

If I used a sugar glider bonding pouch, for a ferret kit ( baby) would it be safe, the pouch would be modified so the ferret would fit in with room to move, I was just wondering, it wouldn’t be in there for much more than an hour, and hour and a half at the very most. would it be o.k? thanks!
