Do you think i should get an Austrailian Sugar Glider?

the austrailian sugar glider is kinda like a flying squirrel, but you can train it just like a dog…they are very smart and so adorable and they eat fruit and bugs…i want one and i’ve looked into their nutrition and care habits and they seem pretty simple but i need a second opinion…they seem wonderful to have and they are good natured little animals…

what fruits does your sugar glider like to eat?

i can’t seem to get my sugar glider to eat any other fruit except cherries…any suggestions?

Sugar glider diet?

I adopted an adult female glider about a month ago. Every night, I dutifully chop of an array of fruits and veggies, hand-feed her mealworms, and add crickets and a peanut or two to the fruit. She also has some Sugar glider science diet that she won’t touch, and I put a small bowl of mango pulp in her cage.

Problem is, she ALWAYS goes for the peanuts first, sometimes eats a cricket or two crickets, and doesn’t touch the fruit (peaches, apples, mangoes, honeydew, strawberries and grapes in little bite-size pieces). Occasionally I’ll throw in a small piece of carrot, a kernel of corn and a lima bean. She’ll lick at the mango pulp a little (it’s a new addition), won’t touch the science diet pellets, and if I let her, she’ll eat 25 or 30 mealworms (which I don’t let her anymore!). I don’t think she knows how a glider is supposed to eat!

What can I do to get her to expand her diet? I know too much
I live in FL, which is one of the few states in which it is legal to own a sugar glider without an exotic pet license. The only thing you can’t do is breed them for money. I’ve done my homework.

Sugar gliders and fruit flies?

What on eath can we do about the fruit flies that seem to swarm our house because of the sugar gliders? We keep th cage clean and never leave the food laying around… HELP! Also what should you do if your glider has diahhrea aloy? Vet meds. din’t seem to help, and we lost 1 recently because of it.. I want to know if it happens again.
We feed them pears, peaches, grapes, apples. Mixed greens and corn.

For sugar glider owners or breeders…?

I am caring for a friend’s pets while they’re on vacation and one of the pets is a sugar glider. They have me sprinkle some sort of white powder on to the veggies or fruit I give to it. Any clue what the powder is? Just curious.
The powder is for a sugar glider, not a snake. Could the powder still be for the same thing?
