I threw together this 18″ exercise wheel tonight and put it into this 30″ x 30″ cage that I have been using for playtime. The sugar gliders took right to it and started doing their usual acrobatic moves. This is just a prototype design and isnt the safest thing around right now, but it gives me a good starting point to making a safer extra-large wheel. I wasnt able to capture anything grand on video tonight so I think I’ll give it a try inside of the tent sometime and see what I can get. These little gliders truly are amazing in the dark.

The fast motion camera requires a good amount of light so I had to wait in the dark for her to be running or spinning on it and then I would turn on the lamp and record what I could. The light naturally disturbed her and she would usually just stop running. Gliders need exercise wheels for mental stimulation when kept in a cage, and they immediately begin to find ways to have fun in them which includes riding them around and …
