What does it mean when my Sugar Glider…?

My sugar glider makes this load noise that sounds like an alarm clock. Why does it make it? And it’s done it alot lately, ever sense my cat started sleeping in my room. Could it be doing it because of the cat or some other reason?
It’s not crabbing. I know what that is because I heard enough of it when I was starting to train him. This is different. He won’t stop till I get up and pet him! He’ll even do it when it’s just me in the room and not the cat. (My cat is deaf and has one eye btw, so he dosn’t even know the sugar glider is there! lol) But this sound he makes is very loud and sounds like an alarm clock going off. Could this just be him jealous of the cat sleeping on my bed? Or just wanting me to get up and pay him attention?

for sure its because of the cat in the room. they smell the cat being there and they think it a threat to them. please take the cat out if you give your gliders too much stress they can die. they usually make noises but not that much but i have a couple and when my dog is around they make a weird noise.

Hi there! The noise your glider is probably making is called crabbing – sounds kind of like an electric pencil sharpener. They usually make this noise when they are feeling threatened or scared, so it is probably because of the cat. A new smell, especially of a predator, will usually put them on edge so anytime you make a bump or a noise, they go to defense mode. Crabbing is usually loud enough to scare most things away…
