Chinchilla is the best pet to get hands down. =D

Rats are so adorable! They’re SO SMART too, and they don’t need constant attention. They can be trained to sit on your lap and eat from your hand. Rats are affordable, cute, and will bond with you!
Plus, if you get two, they can have babies, and that’s even more adorable.

I personally think Rats are the best choice. Sugar Gliders are beautiful and interesting but they are nocturnal and therefore harder to bond with. They are also quite skittish by nature.
Chinchilla’s are also skittish by nature, but slightly less so than Sugar Gliders.
Rat’s are the most affectionate and smarter than SG’s or Chins. Also, they are MUCH less expensive to keep.
Good luck in your decision.

rats. My sister had one when she was a kid and that thing was dedicated to her.
it would get out of its cage alot at night so she stopped leaving it in there, and it eventually started climbing into bed with her and it would wake her up in the morning by nibbling on her lip, but not to hurt her.
We asked the vert she went to if it was supposed to stay up all night or sleep and they said they’re nocturnal, but this one wasnt. It slept at night when it was with my sister…
and it lived a lonnnng time.

Personally, I like the rat more. Sugar gliders require a lot of time (actually any pet requires time…) and are more difficult to shop for. Chinchillas are nice but you can’t put a chinchilla on your shoulder and walk around with it- plus they are fast little devils. Rats can be really sweet and imagine how many jokes you could play on people with a rat. Classic.
Good luck.

Definitely rats!
Chinchillas are A LOT of work, and I’ve heard that Sugar Gliders don’t make great pets, and are clingy.
Rats are semi-easy to care for, and will still form a relationship with you.

Rat. Chinchillas are pretty to look at but don’t do much, plus they’re noctournal and need special housing. Same deal with sugar gliders.
Rats are smart, inexpensive to keep and care for, hardy, adaptable and they won’t become neurotic if you make a handling or care mistake once or twice!

My opinion is a rat because they seem to be the most bonding, and also (i dont know this for sure, mind you) i think sugar gliders are nocturnal, while rats can change from being nocturnal to being like us. Altho, chinchillas are cute and cuddly, but ive never seen a sugar glider, soo….. i think your best luck would be with a rat or chinchilla.

A rat is definately more loving and ” bondable ” so to speak. With attention on a regular basis, they can be such loving animals. They are also extremely intelligent. It took a little while, for me and my female rat, to bond, but now she’s trying to love me, all the time. She loves to cuddle up under my chin, and to sit on my shoulder. I never thought that I could ever actually bond with a rat, but I have had her for almost 3 weeks, and now I don’t know what I’d do without her.

Rats are the greatest! They’re friendly, super-clean and they bond to their humans like a dog does. I’ve also found they require virtually no “get used to you” time. I take them out immediately after i buy them and they love me immediately. Buy two and just ensure they have an hour or two out with you, even if it’s just running around your chair while you’re on the computer, every day, and they’ll repay the love you give them a million times over. They’re fantastic

Definetly a rat. You’ll be amazed at some of the things they can do
They’re VERY clever animals and also very friendly and social. = Perfect!

I think a rat or a chinchilla. Rats are easy to care for and relatively inexpensive, but their biggest drawback is their short lifespan. They only live 2-3 years on average. Chinchillas cost more and need a bigger cage, but they are not too difficult to take care of if you do your research, and they live for 10-12 years. Either a rat or a chinchilla will be friendly if you get them young and handle them a lot.
I’ve worked with animals for years and used to breed chinchillas.
