Sugar glider not eating? Are they gender specific?

I bought a baby sugar glider yesterday. I’ve been holding her constantly except when I went to bed and she’s doing pretty well I think- she’s already jumping back to me when I set her down. I’ve been offering her food- carrots and corn so far, but she won’t touch them. I left some in her cage last night when she was active but shes still didn’t touch any. Is there any food they love I can try to start her off on?

Also, she doesn’t mind when girls hold her, but she bites and starts crabbing if men hold her- are some gliders gender specific?
Natz- i wasn’t planning on keeping her diet like this. I’ve researched what they can eat and carrots and corn is acceptable. I’m wondering what would be good to start her off on.

  1. This is because you are not feeding your pet what she needs – she will DIE if you continue this.

This site is good for their nutrition. They need a highly specialised diet, not what you are feeding it.

  2. They are scent pets; they will only accept one owner, and will not enjoy anyone else as much. Keep her to yourself, she won’t appreciate other people.

She probably isn’t eating because she’s quite new.. It’s common for new pets to be slightly confused and she’s probably too dazed to think about eating! She’ll probably start soon..

And congrats on getting a glider, I’ve always wanted one. ;)
