sugar glider in NC?

someone gave me a sugar glider with accessories and cage the other day and a list of how to care and feed it.
the first day was day 3 on the list on his feeding schedule and i gave him lettuce and his dry food with the glider booster. then yesterday it said for him to have dry food only and he only ate 2-3 pieces. ive made sure to filter the water, i have fresh fruit for him as well.
ive been told at the local pet store that i can give him crickets and mealworms, can i put the booster powder on them? i just want to make sure that he has enough calcium.
with the ice-cream mixture i make for him, do i just take a small chunk of it and put it in there frozen or thawed?
i live in lenoir, NC and he came from the jamestown fleamarket, is there anywhere else that may have the booster for him or do i have to make a trip out there?
okay you may have misunderstood me.
im not giving him a crap load of food. i HAVE fruit for him, meaning that i have the food when he is supposed to eat that on his schedule. and no he has not over eaten. he ate a bit of the lettuce and the dry food not all of it!

  1. I think your giving it too much food. If you keep it up you might kill it! I’d stop giving it soooooooo much to eat.

lettuce generally doesnt hve much nutrition in it – except for romaine…
he is probably stressed.. they tend to bond with one person and should remain with that person for life…

  4. You need to get him on a proper diet. This way you can be sure he is getting the calcium and protein he needs. We use a mixture called BML, but there are others as well. Along with this he needs fruit and veggies every night. Gliders do not eat dry food as a staple of their diet. We do use a hard food that is mainly for their teeth, not nutrition.

Mealworms are good for protien also, but should be given as a treat.

I don’t reccomend lettuce since it is mainly water and can give them runny poop. They should not have citrus often either, such as oranges or tomatos.
