If you only have ONE sugar glider will it die no matter what? Or does it need extra care? Also she isa cold at night what can i do to keep her warm?

im not sure what a sugar gluider is but if i were you i would go buy a heat lamp and shine the lamp close to it,or use blankets to make a supportive craddle,like a baby,i hope it get well

Hi there…it won’t die, rather if it doesn’t receive social attention at least a couple hours on a daily basis it will become depressed and as a result of the depression could die. Ideally, sugar gliders do better if they can have a mate as they naturally social animals. In the wild they live in groups of 12 – 20 so it’s very important that a single glider receives at least a couple hours of attention on a daily basis if you choose to keep it alone.
Consider placing a reptile heat lamp nearby the cage (not in it), to provide some warmth to the environment. For bedding warmth sugar gliders like pouches made out of either fleece or wool. Well put Seattle – They wont necissarily die of loneliness, but it can lead to traumatic events such as self mutilation, and yes sometimes death. They are normally much happier with a companion, and it does not always need to be a glider of the opposite sex – you can have two neutered males, two females, or male/female.
In order for a lone sugar glider to live as close to a normal healthy life possible, they just need lots of extra attention and play time from their human companions.
To give you an example of how social they are:
I currently own 5 sugar gliders. Back in August I expanded from 3 to 4, intending on introducing a new girl to my colony. The other females in the colony would not accept her and would never let her near, so she had to be housed alone.
She started out as a sweet little girl, but being housed alone she slowly became unmanageable and fearful of me. This past month I purchased another glider in hopes of pairing them – they immidiately got along and she is reverting back to her sweet self.
For heating, I have to make sure to keep a constant temperature of about 72-75 degrees for them – if your baby is cold she could be in trouble. As seattle said, they love comfy fleece pouches. You can actually make your own (it’s pretty easy too!) – http://www.suzsugargliders.com/nosewpouch.htm .
