Is there anyone in California that owns a sugar glider?

There are thousands of people in California that own Sugar Gliders; my best friend included. Heck; I baby-sit my friend’s when she is out of town. However; everyone keeping one here is doing so illegally. All of the aforementioned thousands smuggled their Gliders in from out of state.
Personally; I find it completely idiotic that you can own an Anaconda or a Reticulated python here, but you can’t have a Sugar Glider, Ferret, or Hedgehog. It makes absolutely no sense to me, and is one of the many reasons why I am moving out of state.
