please help me decide on a pet?

ok, so i already have a doggy, an outdoor cat, 2 horses, a hamster, a free-roaming bunny, and 2 fish. I’m trying to think of a cute cuddly fun easy somewhat-cheap pet. it’s not that i’m bored of my other animals but that i have extra time and i could use it with another pet. i want something that is gonna want to be held SOMETIME, but not be lazy and boring. i like ferrets but my mom says they stink. do they? i also like chinchillas but she thinks they stink too. again, do they? what kind of cool pets do u think i would like? something kinda unusual might b fun too. sugar gliders? idk. please help.
i have extra time cuz my fam all helps out. my sis plays with the animals too. my dad helps me feed them all. my mom helps too. so it’s not just me, or i wouldn’t ever have any extra time! all my friends love my pets too and play with them

  1. Ferret sounds like a good choice for you. They CAN stink if not kept clean. Their litter box needs to be cleaned daily, and they need pretty regular baths. Descenting can help with the musk odor some too.
Chinchillas don’t stink that I know of.

  3. How in the world do you have extra time is my first question? If you do though I’d say ferret, they can be kept clean and if you have lots of time you’ll be able to do so – otherwise they can stink so bad. What about a sugar glider? They are kinda cool, and definately unusual little creatures.

  4. haha wow you sound like me! ive got 2 horses, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 fish tanks, hamster, 2 turtles. wow you go! haha i dont know how you have extra time! haha well, i’m thinking about getting a birdie, and i dont think they are super expensive so you may wanna check them out too. chinchillas are like $100-200 around where i live, so i dont know if wanna spend some cha-ching on that.( but then again, look at the horses, right? ahah) if ya do, right on! turtles are also pretty kewl, ive got 2 red ear sliders which are actually really kewl, even tho i’m not really that type of person i guess, but i have a pond for them. hermit crabs are suppppperrrrrr boring so i wouldnt suggest getting them. i spent like 150 bucks on all the stuff and they died like a month or less later. my friend has a ferret and it is really kewl and i dont think they stink. gerbils are also pretty sweet.
    have fun!
    hope i helped

  5. if you have some spare time why dont you just play fetch with your dog or ride your horses or something? you could also just lay down and read a book, or hang with your friends. but if you REALLY want a new pet in my opinion, you should get a ferret. they sound like fun! if they do stink, give him a lot of baths. =)

    have fun!

  6. Get a ferret! they dont stink if the cage is clean. they are awsome pets but you have to take a good care of them. I think ferrets are better than chinchillas. Ferrets sleep from 15-18 hours a day. and you have to play with them for 2 hours. make sure that the ferret is spayed because if its not than you might have problems, if you get a ferret from a pet store than it’s going to be spayed already. you have to be carful so the ferret dont get sick cause if the ferret gets sick than you might spent some money on them.give the feret a bath once a month. but anyways the are cute and they are great pets

You have extra time? How do you possibly do that? Dogs require a lot of attention, and so do cats, so I’d imagine two horses would be a tremendous amount of work. And then the hamsters and the fish are just extra work. Do you really think you can handle another pet?
If you have a lot of time on your hands, which I find unlikely, I suggest a ferret. They are great companions. They’re loyal, playful, curious, energetic, nice and have a ton of personality. The only thing is, is that they are somewhat expensive. They usually cost about 120 dollars. They also require daily care, and need to play at least 4 hours a day. I’d suggest getting two. Two are not double the work, they’re actually less work, since they’ll be able to play with each other, which would be good for you. And they don’t smell. They do have scent glands, but they are usually descented. And even if they’re not, theier smell isn’t powerful or offensive. It will not make your house smell like a pet store.
If you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, and want something that’s not much care, how about a rat? Rats are great animals, and are very smart. They’re very clean, and will rarely bite. They are social and interactive too. Two can comfortably live in a 20 gallon long tank. They are very, very cheap and easy to care for.

  8. Don’t get another pet.
Split up your free time to give your other pets more attention. You’ll develop a closer relationship!
