I live in abiggish town flat & looking for something to cuddle with.Ive had hamsters in the past but are no longer for me,i cant have a cat or dog.Ive had a rabbit but she ate through wires so my friend took her on as thought would be best. I was thinking of a chinchilla although had a bad experience,i went to a pet shop & went over to 1 in its cage & it growled & really scared me. Im not really goo with handling hamsters etc as im rather shy & nerous around things like that, looked at sugar gliders but make too much noise. Thinking of a ferret but not sure as heard you need to keep them in air & obviously in a flat i dont have much space. NOt allowed anything noisey(orders from landlord)So a bird is out to the question. doesnt leave me with much choice does it. Has anybody got any ideas? Thanks
Guinea pigs and rats can be trained; rats smell a lot more than piggies though.

How bout a tortoise?
Mellow, fairly easy to care for when you meet their diet and housing requirements. Not very bitey..
Not necessarily cuddly, but they’re neat and interactive..
Here’s info on caring for a Russian Tortoise which is about the easiest one..

They do need UVB, but, you can get a bulb that provides both heat and UVB called a mercury vapor bulb.

Ferrets are very nice animals, and pretty quiet. Rats make excellent pets and take better to cages than ferrets do. ..they also smell better and eat less.
