my female sugar glider is pregnant ?????

ok, this morning i woke up and when i went to get my couple ot feed them i notice she had a belly. its not a big belly but it sticks out of her body. i know for sure she is pregnant because i check her everyday and she never had it before. ok, so my question is how do i take care of her. i mean, i know the male has to be with her and that she needs extra protein and vitamins and calcium but when is she going to give birth or what is there in special that i need to do for her.

this is the first time in a year that shes pregnant. i got them both when they were babies so they matured together.

  2. try to bring her to a vet and ask them to check if your sugar glider is really pregnant… try to ask the vet how to take care of it and what to give her so that she has healthy babies and give her vitamins so that she’ll be strong and wont get sick

  3. You can have pet sugar gliders? Woah – I want one! Lol.

But I doubt she is pregnant … it doesn’t just pop up out of no where, either way you should have her checked by a vet (one that knows about wildlife especially) because if she is pregnant, it’s good for her to get checked up throughout the pregnancy to make sure its going smoothly, and if she isnt … that bump could be something seriously not normal. And the wildlife-specialising vet would be able to answer all your questions about special care. If you don’t know a vet of that nature, contact a wildlife clinic place, they would know about the caring, and they would know a vet that could help you.

Also go to this website about your pregnant sugar glider (sorry, I dont really feel like writing out a big huge thing, I thought I would just give you the information as you know your sugar gliders better than anyone else)

  5. Actually, sugar gliders are marsupials, and so when the baby was born, it was probably no bigger then a grain of rice. Chances are if the bump is big enough for you to see and you think she is pregnant, she has already had the baby :) Take her to your vet to check her out, and make sure there isn’t anything wrong with her, and ask advice for how to care for the little guys.

Also try googling ‘breeding sugar gliders’, and you’ll get a ton of results for how to care for them and what to and what not to do.

    Good luck!

The babysitter for two sugar gliders whenever my best friend is out of town :-p
