What sort of pets you can have, and what sort of licenses you need all depend on the state and city in which you live. If you go to your city's website, there should be a list of pets allowed and not allow, as well as what special permits might need to be purchased from the city. In my experience, most cities will allow sugar gliders without an exotic pet license, but it all depends on the city! It all depends on where you live.
