I would like to get a sugar glider(or a cockatoo) but i was wondering if i need and exotic pet license?

no you don’t my friend has one and he doesn’tt have a license just be very careful when handling it and when they bite they bite hard…trust me i bled

It all depends on where you live.
What sort of pets you can have, and what sort of licenses you need all depend on the state and city in which you live. If you go to your city’s website, there should be a list of pets allowed and not allow, as well as what special permits might need to be purchased from the city.
In my experience, most cities will allow sugar gliders without an exotic pet license, but it all depends on the city!

It depends on where you live. Some states prohibit sugar gliders completely, some only prohibit them in cities (like NY city), and sometimes it depends on if you live in a rural or urban area. I live in AZ and I don’t need to have a license.
Just call the local fish and game department and they’ll tell you.
