Put a small amout of vaseline on the wheel so it doesn't make any noise, and two, cover the cage at night with a heavy towel or blanket. Once in a while it's alright to remove the wheel if you need to get much needed sleep. They should feel too miffed as long as they have other toys to climb and play with then it wouldn't harm them. You could schedule a wheel time with them before you go to sleep and hopefully they'll use it for a little while before you have to remove it until the morning.
