i want a new pet and i want either a ferret , flemish giant rabbit, or a sugar glider, which one would be the best, im new at the whole small pets thing,
which would be the best suited, i live on 40 acres in north carolina, if that means anything, i want a pet that will bond to me, please help me
ferrets!! ferrets are well suited for your lifestyle from what i can tell. they are affectionate, intelligent, energetic, playful, entertaining, and funny. they get very bonded to you, also, when we got our ferrets they were scared and worried, but then after only a few days, evertime we walked in their room, they got up, and were so excited we were there. anything will entertain them. i seriously can’t stress enough how much fun they were. also they can be litterbox trained, so cleanup is pretty easy. they are so cute!!!!!!! the only cons i can think of are they can be a pretty long term commitment, about 3-10 yrs. (there isn’t an average) our male lived to be 2, but our female is still going!! also they can be expensive with them, a cage and accessories and such.
best of luck with your decision
if you decide to get a ferret or ferrets, then be sure to post it, so i can tell you some care tips on them!!

Sugar gliders are very time consuming to feed, and with mine they became very nippy during adulthood. They need lots of fresh fruit and veggies, and they are kinda smelly. SO are ferrets, but over the gliders, rabbits, I have had I would not trade my ferrets for anything! They are fairly easy to keep, cheap to feed, and hilarious!

I am currently looking for a Flemish Giant as a pet myself.
I have had 3 ferrets..yes they are good pets but they smell real bad! I even had all 3 of them with their glands removed. My whole family used to complain about the ferret smell on my clothes. These guys are very prone to sickness and all 3 of mine died due to a non fixable problem which led them to suffer if not euthanized.
Sugar Gliders do look cool but they are so tiny and look too fragile to have a good time with. I do not personally have experience with these guys but they look skittish as with most small creatures.
If you’re like me I wanted a pet that i can hold on my lap and play with like a good natured cat or dog. The cages for the Flemish look huge and expensive but i was going to keep it as a house cat and let it walk around and keep a small bed near with it’s food and water as long as it is house trained for it. Oh they are a bit tough to find as in finding a breeder but look for the national rabbit breeder site and you can look up your state , that’s how i found a place like 20 minutes from me.
Hope i have been a help to your thoughts!
