I don’t think so. Our local pet store sold them. I don’t think they even have a business license, much less an exotic animal permit. Some cities do have more restrictions though.

No, you don’t need a license, at least not in California or New York. If you want to make doubly sure, but you don’t want to ask the breeder you are purchasing from this question, you can contact another breeder to ask this question. There are two sellers with baby sugar gliders listed under “exotic animals” right now on Live Deal.
