  1. It is illegal, and I’m getting a lot of mixed signals when I do research. The fish and game code in CA says “It is unlawful to import, transport, possess, or release alive into this state, except under a revocable, nontransferable permit as provided in this chapter “. So I would assume you can get a permit for them.

    Just make sure you do get one! If you don’t have permit and get caught you will a) get a fine and b) they will most likely take the suggie away and put it to sleep.

    Honestly, I’m not extremely knowledgeable about having suggies in illegal states. I would call the owner of Suncoast Sugar Gliders, her name is Lisa. She ships babies all over the US ((I got mine from her)) and if there is a way around the law she will be able to tell you how to get around it and who to talk to.
