  2. Skip the butter cookies. Those aren’t good for them.

Baby food is OK, but fruit and vegetables only.

Small amounts only, consider it treats.

Chinchillas are tiny animals, and they just don’t need all the calories.

Same for the banana strawberry treats.

Proper amounts of treats is the size of 3 raisins per day.

  3. I’ve never given mine any type of baby foods and don’t know much about what’s in them, so I’m just going to give you a few treat “guidelines” to follow: Chins should not be given foods that are high in calories, fat, sugar, or starch (so check the labels of the foods). Also, any meat based baby foods should not be given to chinchillas. And one more thing – rememeber, they are just treats and should be given sparingly – how many/much treats allowed vary from person to person, but the majority say no more than a teaspoon of treats per day.

  5. Different Indifference

No, chins do not care for moist foods and should not be forced to eat something of this nature.
Chins are primarily eaters of grasses and dried grass materials, that are high in fiber and not rich in sugars, fats or moisture.
Butter cookies are total junk food for a chin, and the banana strawberry treats are not good either.
If you dont want to waste the baby food eat it yourself or donate to a food bank, day care center or food pantry.

I have been keeping chins for going on 10 years, and constantly study all the info I can find on them, plus a lot of hands on experience.
