Are any of these good pets (in your opinion) ? I’ve only had dogs (mostly small-medium sized) & cats.?

  1. rabbits are ok you just have to clean up after them
same with hamsters ferrets and guinea pigs. I dont know about hedgehogs, sugar gliders, and chinchillas.

  2. they can all be good pets depending on what you’re looking for.

    from my experience/opinions…

Rabbits – pros: fun to watch them play, if it’s not a lazy rabbit. can be cuddly if they’re tame. cons: need very careful handling. cage gets very stinky if you don’t clean it often enough.

Hamsters – pros: very low maintinence. playful and cute. cons: they sleep all day and are active at night. they’re prone to biting until they’re tamed. not cuddly.

    Hedgehogs – no experience

Ferrets – pros: VERY playful and entertaining. almost catlike or doglike without being a cat or a dog. they can be cuddly when tired. cons: very oderous, high maintince.

guinea Pigs – pros: can be very cuddly. make adorable squeeking noises. easy to care for. cons: could be considered boring.

    Sugar gliders – no experience

    Chinchillas – no experience

  3. Obviously, any animal is going to be stinky if you don’t clean up after it. But I have found ferrets in particular to be extra stinky. I didn’t care for chinchillas; they seem to be really stupid, and I don’t think they have much personality at all. Hedgehogs and hampsters just stay in their cage all the time, and are boring. If you have the time to let a rabbit out of its cage every day and can keep an eye on it, rabbits are my favorite. Even if they are not cuddly (I have had one cuddly and one not cuddly), they are still really sweet and fun to watch.

  4. I love ferrets, They are just like cats they can even be fed cat food. they love to play and will jump and run around if you let them out of their cage. they also hiss but in a playful way not a mean way. If you do decide to get a ferret, don’t get one in an open cage from the pet store, often kids will go in the store and harass them and make them mean. You should get one that is in a closed cage so people haven’t been messing with them in a mean way. I also like chinchillas they are probably the softest pet I ever owned and they are very friendly also. I like rabbits too, but I would suggest a ferret, because they have the most personality.
